Why I Started This Podcast on Relationships, Leadership, and Self-Awareness

I'm Mike Hauser, an executive coach and Enneagram practitioner. After more than two decades coaching people through real-life challenges in relationships, leadership, and seasons of pressure and transition, I've seen how many people feel worn down by life or unsure where to turn when things stop working.

I've always felt called to create something that offers encouragement, clarity, and a safe space to process your story, without pressure, politics, or judgment.

The moment this podcast became real for me actually started in a conversation with my ADHD doctor. I told him about the book I felt called to write, a down-to-earth, non-churchy guide for navigating our relationship with ourselves, others, and, for those who want to explore it, God.

He pushed me to explain why I believed it mattered, and after I shared the vision, he looked at me and said:

“There’s a huge market for this. Publishers are waiting for this exact voice.”

Then he added the line that changed everything:

“The first question they’ll ask is: how many people are you bringing with you?”

He asked if I’d ever considered starting a podcast around these themes. I told him I had, and shared how one of my teenagers, who doesn’t share my faith worldview, once surprised me by saying:

“Dad, you should do a podcast. I like the way you talk about stuff, and I think a lot of people would too.”

Coming from a 16-year-old, that felt like a miracle in itself.

My doctor leaned in and said with total confidence:

“Do the podcast first. Build the audience. Then walk into a publisher’s office. They’ll jump at it.”

And that was the day I stopped thinking about this podcast and started building it.

Real Conversations With Real People About Relationships, Leadership, and the Things That Actually Change Us

One of the things I’m most excited about is bringing guests onto the podcast in future episodes. I’m a naturally curious person, and some of the best moments of my life have happened in honest, unscripted conversations, the kind where someone says something real, and you can feel the whole room unclench.

I love asking questions. I love exploring people’s stories. And honestly, my humour tends to show up in the moments you can’t plan. So as the podcast grows, you can expect more episodes where I sit down with people who are navigating the same real-life struggles we all face in our relationship with ourselves, others, and God.

No performances. No pressure. Just meaningful conversations, practical wisdom, and a few unexpected laughs along the way.
